Angus King served as Maine's governor from 1994 until 2003 and was arguably the state's most popular leader. The day after he left office, King, his wife, Mary Herman, and their two children – Ben, 14, and Molly, 10 – hit the road in a 40-foot Newmar Dutch Star motor coach to see America. Over the next five and a half months, the family traveled 15,000 miles and visited 33 states. Part travelogue and part career transition guide, his new book Governor’s Travels: How I Left Politics, Learned to Back Up a Bus, and Found America, chronicles the family’s journey, the people they met, and some surprising discoveries they made about themselves and America.
Angus King will do a slide presentation and signing. |
