Information on Maine Women Write: Maine Women Write was co-founded by Caitlin Shetterly, Liza Bakewell and Lisa Bowe with the mission to “create community and promote the works of Maine women authors.” Over the next seven months they will have monthly book club meetings at participating bookstores and libraries around the state to celebrate the seven Maine Women Write authors.Kenenbooks will be particpating in this bookclub. Melissa Coleman's This Life is in Your Hands will be the first book club read. We will meet at Kennebooks on Wednesday, October 19th at 7pm to discuss Melissa's book. Here is a brief description of the book: “Lyrical and down-to-earth, wry and heartbreaking, This Life is in Your Hands is a fascinating and powerful memoir,” says Tom Perrotta. “Melissa Coleman doesn’t just tell the story of her family’s brave experiment and private tragedy, she brings to life an important and underappreciated chapter of our recent history.” Indeed, her father, Eliot Coleman, has gone on to become one of the most revered and influential organic farmers in the country, a trailblazer in the locavore and the whole food movements.
