Mary Mae and the Gospel Truth Sandra Dutton will be joining us to read from and discuss her new book, Mary Mae and the Gospel Truth, in which 10-year-old Mary Mae loves Sunday school but wonders if the world is really only 6000 years old. Provocative in the very best way, this is a brave and timely chapter book that leaves you the better for having read it.

School Library Journal calls it a "great story with valuable lessons" and Publishers Weekly, in a starred review, says, "Dutton sensitively navigates the sticky debate between creationism and evolution."

About the Author: Sandra Dutton grew up the daughter of Sunday School teachers in Ohio. She was as curious about the book of Genesis as she was about the fossils in her backyeard. She says, "I wrote Mary Mae and the Gospel Truth for kids like me who love discovering things, whether in the Bible, the backyard, or a history book. I want them to have the courage to ask questions."

Seating is limited - RSVP suggested but not required.
